This will be a small, informal symposium focusing on barocaloric materials. We aim to bring together chemistry, physics and materials science perspectives to discuss the state of the art and the future of the field. Given the rapid recent increase in both the number of known barocaloric materials and the range of materials classes they are drawn from, this will be a timely opportunity to exchange ideas and explore new directions. Details about the invited speakers can be found at https://www.isis.stfc.ac.uk/Pages/Baroconf.aspx.
The symposium will be hosted at The Coseners House in Abingdon, and will run from lunchtime on November 3rd to lunchtime on November 4th, with time set aside specifically for discussion as well as short talks and poster presentations. There will also be an optional tour of ISIS Neutron Source on the Friday afternoon, to illustrate some of its capabilities that are particularly relevant to barocaloric materials. Thanks to EPSRC sponsorship, there is no charge for attendance.
