Speaker portfolio: Iain Sedgwick graduated with a Masters in Engineering from the University of Oxford in 2009 and joined the Science and Technology Facilities Council (now part of UK Research and Innovation) in the same year. He is currently a Principal IC Design Engineer in the CMOS Sensor Design Group at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and is the author or co-author of more than 25 technical papers and 1 patent. His research interests are in the field of image sensors for scientific applications such as particle physics, photon science and charged particle detection, with a particular focus on large area sensors, high transistor count pixels and time-of-flight imaging. In 2015, his work formed the basis of the spin-out company vivaMOS Ltd. which was acquired by Nordson in 2020.
