By train

A number of train operators offer direct and regular routes to Durham Railway Station, including London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.

A taxi will take you from the station to the venue in about 10 minutes, or a scenic walk along the river bank usually takes under 30 minutes.

Public transport

There are several express coach services daily from most major cities. Durham is well served by both regional express services and the local bus network. From the city bus station - a short walk from the railway station - a bus service runs every 15 minutes past the South Road site.

By road

In light of the impending climate disaster, we recommend travel by public transport.  However, to travel by road, please drive to your nearest railway station, take the train, and then a taxi from Durham station.  If accessibility needs require road travel, then use the A1(M) and leave at Junction 62.  In this case, a parking permit will be necessary, please contact Joanne.

Accommodation

Please contact Joanne - joanne.ogden@stfc.ac.uk if you require accommodation for the 1st July 2025.

Workshop Dinner

There will be a Workshop Dinner taking place on 1st July 2025 at St Johns College, Haughton Dining Room at 18:30 (arrival between 18:00 & 18:30) -
